Xiaomi has introduced its new Mi Box 4S in China. It has been priced at 289 Yuan (about Rs 3,186) and is similar to the Mi Box 4K launched in India. Mi Box 4S is similar in appearance to the Mi Box 4K. So is there any difference between these two? Xiaomi sells the 4S exclusively in white colour, as we have seen the Mi Air Purifier 3 in white. It may happen that it is not offered in India or in any other international market.
The Mi Box 4S streams up to 60fps in 4K and supports HDR, Dolby Audio, and DTS sound. It works on the PatchWall UI with Google’s Android 6.0 platform. Xiaomi also offers smart remote control which gives easy access to voice assistant and many other functions. Dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 support have been provided for wireless connectivity.
Mi-Box 4S is Like Mi Box 4S
Earlier this year, Xiaomi launched the Mi Box 4K in India and is the first media streaming device in the market. The Mi Box 4K is priced at Rs 3,299 and converts flat-panel TVs to Android smart TVs. Xiaomi works on Google’s Android TV platform. However, you do not get the additional option of patch wall on Mi Box 4K.
The Mi Box 4K comes with a smart remote controller that comes with a shortcut to Google Assistant. The presence of Android TV OS provides Google’s smart streaming features. It has a built-in Chromecast that allows you to stream data from your smartphone via Wi-Fi. You can also control home appliances with Google Assistant. In addition, the Google Play Store offers a catalog of 5000+ apps.
